Endeavour Society
Welcome to one and all, old and newbies. We have a great line-up this year, started off by Stephen Westcote last week, many thanks to Stephen; take a look at our schedule for the coming term for impending talks, and also for activities. We will be much more active this year, with the help of two social secs, and a helping hand from the department, we will have a lot on offer.
Buses will be running this term if everyone can get their act together and book it BY 2PM ON THE DAY! Arriva buses run from Bangor to Menai, in time for the talk at 18.50pm, 19.10pm and 19.15pm buses from Bangor bus station, expect the buses to be heading along Upper Bangor and further about 5 mins after departure.
We are still in need of a few drivers, if anyone can help, or knows anyone that can help, please get in touch.
Hopefully we have something to please not only the most
hardened "whale-huggers", but also the sea faring oceanography types
out there. If there is anyone that you would like to see give a lecture to
the Endeavour Society, please feel free to contact us and we will see if
we can get them to come up to the wilds of North West Wales for you.
We have been added to Wales on the Web, a subject gateway to material
of Welsh interest on the world wide web, and an online guide to high quality,
validated websites offering dependable information relating to Wales and all
aspects of Welsh life.
Please don't forget that this website is continually being updated. Visit us regularly to find out all the information you need!
Please note that you MUST always book a place on the bus
for insurance reasons by the Wednesday midday, before the talk. However,
there will still not be a limit on the number of people who want to come to
the talk. To book a place on the bus, click on the menu item entitled 'Book
the Bus', fill in the form and click on 'Reserve my seat'. Your place on
the bus will then be booked.
Please note that you do not have to be a member to come to the talks -
but everybody (whether you're a member or not) must book a place.
In collaboration with BBC News, we can now bring you the very latest Science and Nature News Headlines. Clicking on a headline will open a new browser window with the full story. We hope you will make use of this useful feature
